The future is female at the Women’s Business Conference & Awards with the directors vowing to book exclusively female speakers and experts for their upcoming event!
The Women’s Business Conference & Awards is an annual event, inviting business women from across the country to take part in a full day of business focussed talks, strategic networking and building quality connections. Perhaps the most exciting part of it all – the event is concluded with the Women’s Business Awards, celebrating the UK’s top business women across multiple sectors.
It is traditionally held at the Pittville Pump Rooms in the picturesque town of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Every year business women travel across the country for the event, and with the move to online in 2020 & 2021 the event has even attracted a global audience.
The event is about to kick off it’s 10th year serving women in the business community, and there’s been some fundamental changes made in order to better serve women in business!
Founder and CEO Angela De Souza says, “Now that we’ve reached 10 years, we’ve been seriously evaluating and looking at what we do as a company. There are so many roads you can take when you reach this milestone, and it has been really important to us to stay true to the mission we set out with from the start – to empower women to succeed in business! This year, we have decided to double down on this mission, and in doing so realised we needed to make some drastic changes.”
So, what is getting an overhaul at this year’s Women’s Business Conference & Awards? First and most importantly, you’ll be seeing a lot more women! The company has decided to book exclusively female speakers and experts for all keynote addresses, expert pods and workshop facilitators. The move is in an effort to empower women – to give them the platform and the spotlight.
Creative Director, Lorah-Kelly Beard says, “As a company we’ve always welcomed both male and female speakers, but things started to feel wrong when we realised our speaker lineups were becoming increasingly male dominated even at women’s business events! This doesn’t sit right with us, especially as our mission as a company is to empower WOMEN to succeed in business.”
Not only does this move empower the women who sign up as speakers and experts, but the women in attendance get to be inspired, equipped and challenged by those who get it. Those who have been there and done that and have come out the other side. It’s women, empowering women!
Alongside the Keynote Speakers, networking opportunities and workshops, the event will also debut the “Expert Pods”. This is an idea being pioneered by the Women’s Business Conference & Awards. It’s an exchange for the traditional Exhibitor Stand, which you would typically encounter at business shows. The Expert Pods will all be exclusively female-led, and will allow attendees to book a 15-minute consultation to glean advice, knowledge and expertise from the experts in various fields of business.
So if you are a woman in business, I don’t know where else you would want to be this October. Get yourself to the Women’s Business Conference & Awards, and celebrate female excellence in business.
