Appointment of New Non-executive Directors of Women’s Business Club

Women’s Business Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Blogg and Dalia Kay as Non-executive Directors of the company on 1 February 2023.

Jennifer Blogg has over 20 years of experience working across a wide range of Commercial roles in retail, snacking, and lottery. She is experienced at leading teams through change and loves working in fast-paced, often complex situations. She also has the extra challenge of balancing her career with being a mum to 3 children and she says sometimes that can be the hardest part!
Jennifer says, “I am delighted to be working with the team at Women's Business Club as there is real merit and power in connecting women with like-minded entrepreneurs and leaders to build their network and confidence, whilst broadening their perspective. I am passionate about helping other women to succeed and providing them with the tools and support to enable them to be at their best.”

Dalia Kay has worked as a portfolio manager in the trade finance sector for over 28 years. Her role involved considering investments with complex structures and mitigating risks as much as possible. An important part of her approach was to always look at transactions holistically, never discounting the human factor. She is excited to start a new path in her career as a non-executive director. Her personal motto is to always try to look at the bright side of life. Being the mum of two sets of twins helps!

Dalia Kay says, “I feel privileged to join Angela and her team at Women’s Business Club to continue their incredible work. With a 10-year track record, the Club has provided a platform where women can get resources to build a successful business but also feel part of the larger community of women entrepreneurs.”

“Over my career, I have witnessed the difficulties faced by women wanting to build businesses or even be part of them. Women make up half the UK population, but still as of 2021 only own 36% of small and medium-sized enterprises. I am proud to join this journey as I think that’s something that needs to change. I am looking forward to helping to empower women to be able to start and scale their own businesses.”

Women’s Business Club exists to empower women to succeed in business and meet across the globe in various venues ranging from hotels, pubs, and even banks and corporate offices.

Founder and CEO, Angela De Souza says, “Women’s Business Club is proud of its ten-year track record of organic growth but at the same time, we are forward-focused on this next decade and have significant plans to deliver the highest quality business events and support wherever we are able to do so. It is a great privilege to have Jennifer and Dalia join us, we are pleased to be welcoming them onto our board and have them partner with us on this mission. With their support and expertise, we stand a far great chance of success.”

The club caters to women ranging from startup entrepreneurs to employed corporate women and in 2023 they have set a goal to launch over 1,000 Coffee & Coworking Communities across to support women in their post-Covid recovery. These communities are free to attend and allow women to meet up and connect with other women in a safe space.
