My Funding Journey – Handholding

Today we continue Angela's funding journey with Aileen where we're just checking in to see how Angela is getting on with her story. It seems she is stuck! And so Aileen is going to offer Angela some handholding and break the steps down into baby steps to avoid overwhelm.

Here's what Angela has to say after holding back the tears and trying to be brave.

At first, I was embarrassed and felt like a naughty schoolgirl for not doing my homework. Then I felt stupid for not being able to do such a simple task. I held back the tears as I already felt so silly, didn't want to add to my shame. But thankfully Aileen reassured me that this is normal and many founders feel this way. Whew. So I asked for a little hand-holding to get me through!

I am a female founder CEO and I know what it took to get to where I am today even though I am still far from where I want to be. It's been a lonely journey. There are very few other female founders that I have managed to chat with, learn from and grow with. So rather than feeling sorry for myself, I decided to build my own super network with women just like me and those further ahead in the journey who are willing to share their wisdom and experience with us.
