Empowering women to succeed in business

PR & Social Media Power Day

I recently attend a PR Power Day with Scott Media – a real game changer and I simply had to share it with you. Scott Media is run by Fiona Scott, an award-winning no-nonsense journalist, blogger, media consultant & TV producer/director, addicted to stories since 1982. She is passionate about connecting businesses and celebrities with the right journalists to grow their fans and brand.

Fiona says, “The best way to think about working with me – or any of my associates – is that we will be journalists for you, your team and your business.”

I am still using my notes from the day for my own attempts at PR but also to help others in our network. It’s always the little things that make a big difference, some of the many think I learned from Fiona are:

  • Make sure your press release is news and not an advert
  • Include high-quality photos and where possible video
  • Check splling nad grammer 😉
  • Don’t forget to include contact details

Fiona really knows her stuff and the day was so engaging that you hardly noticed the time go by. The stunning venue, Cotswold Park Barns, situated in the most beautiful Cotswold countryside made the experience all the more enjoyable.

Find out what Fiona has coming up next – more info here.

Part of the PR Power Day included a session with local photographer, Helen Richmond and full credit to her for the awesome photos above. Helen really helps you feel comfortable in front of the camera and helps get the best possible photos. Here is one of my photos, thank you so much, Helen.

Helen says, “I love working with people,  and when I work with new clients I like to get to know you a little.  I enjoy that.”

In addition to personal branding, Helen also specialises in horse photography, she says,

“During a session,  I strive to make you feel like the most confident version of yourself,  and I know how to help you and your horse look fabulous.  My aim is for you to love every minute of your horse shoot with me.”

So that’s a little update from me!
